Apartment Review for Timberwalk Apartments - Jacksonville, FL

Timberwalk is a miserable place to live. I, along with my two other roommates, are in our early twenties so first off being surrounded by yelling, stomping, stair climbing, skateboarding kids is the pits. Their cracked out parents yelling and screaming at night doesn't help either. Then, we have a cop who lives above us, the "curtesy officer." Well he "curiously" called "backup" on myself and my roommates when we had SIX people total in the apartment. SIX! The two backup officers as well as the unfriendly neighbor harassed my peers and unlawfully entered my apartment. Plumbing problems include but are not limited to: Cold water for washer not turned on at move in (had to request it), shower above master bedroom's ceiling collapsed, spare toilet broken and requested for fix for over a month, including excessive leaking. And the office staff!! When we requested a walk through, changes were requested and upon move in, were not completed. Thankfully we were not moving in on move in day. When I sternly explained I hoped to not any problems with this apartment the week I moved in, I was assured I wasn't. That is most definitely wrong. The maintenance guy, Joe, does the best of what he can, but he cannot work properly if the office staff does not supply him with adequate parts that were SUPPOSED to be ordered. The office staff constantly has their "answering service" answering their calls and of course the person can't do anything to help. Everyone there is trained to do everything a completely different way. They do not work together or fill each other in at all when someone is absent or switching shifts. The sorry excuse for a "fitness center" they have is dirty, never cleaned. There's never paper towels in the dispenser at all and people leave old sanitary wipes everywhere. It's very small and there are hardly any machines available either. There are stray cats everywhere. The "dog park" is simply a big field with nothing but large amounts of dog feces everywhere you look or attempt to step. Their pool is decent, as long as you don't mind the Chuck-E-Cheese type of crowd. Don't plan on having room to do laps anywhere. Overall, this apartment complex is a roof over your head and nothing more than that. The "newly rehab/renovated" apartment is nothing special. They advertise on the website they will paint an accent wall before move in, but I was never given that option. Kitchen is extremely too small and cabinets hardly fit anything. The dishwasher door doesn't even pull down all the way because it runs into the stove bottom drawer. The pantry/laundry room door has fallen off multiple times, as well as the AC accordion fold doors. Please take my advice and find somewhere else to live in Mandarin. Don't be fooled by the "cool, cosmopolitian, connected" slogan, it is by far any of those.
