Apartment Review for Madison At Spring Wood - Jacksonville, FL

We knew it wasn't the greatest place when we moved in but we didn't have much of a choice at the time and it was at least affordable. The staff seemed nice and we knew people that lived here and they said it wasn't all that bad. When we moved in we found a couple roaches...not too bad...killed them and put out a few traps and that seemed to do the trick for awhile. Now that winter has broken and its warm again, the roaches are EVERYWHERE and nothing we do helps. They have pest control here but its the whole apartment that needs to be sprayed. We sprayed ours on our own and it did not work. I'm pregnant, due in 3 weeks and we still have another month here after that until we move. Needless to say I am NOT happy. Not only do I have to deal with them but our baby will too, and we need to do everything we can to not take them with us. Our neighbors are creepy and they all blast their music all day long. They hang out right outside our doors, play with dirt bikes, and yell. One of them even stole my husbands bike that we keep locked up on the porch. The ONE day he went to work and didn't lock it up after his work out it was gone. Nice. Needless to say I do NOT feel safe with the people that live around me. Not to mention the kid that keeps knocking on my door asking me if our hot water works when all the apts here have their own heaters. The matainence here sucks...they pretend to keep up the grounds once a week. It takes them at least 2 days to fix any issue you have and normally its not fixed right. We've had to deal with towel racks that fall off walls and broken toilets. I even saw them sitting on their butts in their golf carts using a stick to pick up trash...won't even do a proper cleaning. The people here in general are lazy. The dumpster is gross because people won't throw their trash down the hole and them people end up piling thier trash around it because there is no way to throw trash in the dumpster. And its empty. We've checked. We had no issues with the staff until a few months ago when they decided to send us a 3 day eviction notice for non payment when we use the military allotment service to pay our rent and they were the ones having the issue. We had no idea there was an issue until they threatened to kick us out. When we went up front to talk to them about it it was laughed off as a mistake and we were told don't worry about it. Don't worry about an eviction notice thats not even justified? You've got to be kidding me. I thank God my husband is being transferred and we're breaking our lease a month before it ends (THANK YOU NAVY)to move far north away from this place. Do NOT move here...you can do better.
